PANU SOMERMA

CEO / FOUNDER

Panu Somerma is the founder and CEO of Solid Stream. He has been producing live broadcasts since 2013 and has been involved in hundreds of productions, ranging from webinars to international conferences. He is responsible for the site’s expert content.

Panu founded Solid Stream in 2019, but he has been producing live broadcasts since 2013. For ten years, he was in charge of video and live production at Kirjastokaista—broadcasting library conferences, seminars, and training sessions live across Finland. At the same time, he wrote a technical blog for the industry on live production practices. Visual storytelling is one of his strengths, alongside his versatile skill set. Panu has worked on documentary films not only in Finland but also in Europe and Africa.

At Solid Stream, Panu is responsible for the overall planning and management of productions. He has been involved in hundreds of live broadcasts, ranging from individual webinars to multi-day international conferences—with clients including the European Parliament, Statistics Finland, and VTT.

Panu is also responsible for the expert content on the solidstream.fi website and writes guides on webinars and live production.

Tatu Singo

Producer / VIDEO / AUDIO

Tatu Singo is a producer at Solid Stream who is responsible for video and audio production. He has over ten years of experience in media production as an entrepreneur and in producing large-scale events.

Tatu has been working in media production as an entrepreneur for over ten years. He ran his own production company, SomeMediaGroup, starting in 2015, and subsequently served as CEO in charge of production at SMG Media. In between, he was responsible for media production at Nuori Yrittäjyys ry.

In recent years, Tatu has also worked at Rajupaja Oy on large-scale events, which is evident in his approach to large, fast-paced productions. At Solid Stream, he is responsible for production as well as video and audio implementation.

Tatu also has a long career as a tattoo artist and entrepreneur in the field—and he won the Street Mirror Expo 2010 Tattoo Festival competition in Tallinn. His visual precision translates directly into his photographic work.

Jalmari jalasvirta

Customer Relationships & Business Development

Jalmari Jalasvirta is responsible for Solid Stream’s client relationships and the commercial planning of productions. He has five years of experience in sales and production management for live and video productions, as well as a long history as an entrepreneur. He helps clients develop a repeatable model for webinars and live broadcasts rather than relying on one-off projects.

At Solid Stream, Jalmari is responsible for client relationships, new business development, and the commercial planning of productions. He specializes in projects where the goal is not a single successful broadcast but a sustainable and measurable production model: webinar series, training programs, and corporate video strategies.

Before joining Solid Stream, Jalmari was responsible for sales of live and video productions at Cine-A Productions and served as the company’s chief operating officer. His clients included technology companies, interest groups, and public sector organizations, and he won the City of Helsinki as a client through a public competitive bidding process, among other achievements. At the same time, he trained hundreds of presenters for webinars, training sessions, and live broadcasts.

Jalmari has been an entrepreneur since 2008. He has served as the founder and CEO of Cots Oy and as the COO of Qataliks, managed the Rivoli Yard summer terrace, and served on the Flow Festival’s beverage management team, where he was responsible for finances and cooperation with authorities. His background is evident in the fact that his conversations with clients begin with the business itself rather than the furniture list. He conducts client work in Finnish, Swedish, and English.

According to Jalmar, the most common mistake is that an organization has an ongoing need, but production is purchased as individual projects. In that case, each episode starts from scratch and ends the moment it concludes. In a repeatable model, the recording, reach, and next episode are already planned out before the first broadcast.

Hemmo Huhtakangas

Audio / AV

Hemmo Huhtakangas is in charge of sound production at Solid Stream and has been involved in hundreds of live broadcasts since 2021. He has a background as a musician, music producer, and event organizer.

Hemmo has been in charge of Solid Stream's audio production since 2021. Sound is the single most important element of a live broadcast—viewers can tolerate mediocre video for a long time, but poor sound will cause them to turn off the broadcast within minutes. It’s Hemmo’s job to make sure that doesn’t happen.

Over the past five years, he has been involved in hundreds of productions: studio webinars, hybrid events, and multi-camera productions at client locations. His areas of expertise include venues where the acoustics aren’t ideal for production, as well as blending the audio from multiple performers and remote participants into a single, cohesive whole.

The other half of his expertise comes from music. He has produced music for various artists, performed as a rap artist and DJ, and organized music events for ten years. He runs his own indie record label 421 Enterprisea, which releases Finnish hip-hop, and is also responsible there for the artists' marketing and social media content, as well as their releases on digital platforms. He releases his own music Dizzy- There are five albums under that name on Spotify.

In practice, this means that the person in charge of sound has stood on the other side of the microphone hundreds of times. This is evident in the way the performers are directed before the broadcast.

Lauri Kallio

Instructor / Illustrator

Lauri Kallio directs Solid Stream's live productions and is in charge of video mixing. He has a background in webcast production and post-production.

Lauri has been directing Solid Stream’s productions for three years. He is responsible for what the viewer sees: camera angle changes, the timing of the performances, and the flow of the broadcast.

Before joining Solid Stream, Lauri worked as a webcast specialist, studio manager, and editor at FLIK Helsinki, where he handled post-production for Finland’s largest brands. Lauri also has experience in TV productions, such as *Salatut Elämät*. He also serves as chairman of the board of Prime Agency Oy.

This combination is rare in production: Lauri is skilled in both live broadcast technology and the storytelling techniques of edited video—and it shows in the quality of the broadcast.

Syed Wajeeh Haider

Web development

Syed Wajeeh Haider is responsible for the technical implementation of the solidstream.fi website and for product development at Solid Stream. He has a background in performance marketing and web development.

Syed is responsible for the technical implementation of the solidstream.fi website and works on Solid Stream's product development project, which involves building new digital tools for live production clients.

His area of expertise is the combination of performance marketing and web development. He has managed search engine and social media advertising campaigns with monthly budgets exceeding 100,000 pounds and has been responsible for the entire process, from campaign structure to tracking and attribution. In addition, he builds WordPress- and PHP-based websites and maintains server environments.

For Solid Stream, this means that technical implementation and measurability are handled by the same team—web services are built from the ground up so that their functionality can be verified.

Jan Klubb

IT / CLOUD

Jan Klubb is responsible for Solid Stream's IT and cloud environments. He has over 20 years of experience in infrastructure and information security.

Jan is responsible for Solid Stream's IT and cloud environments.

He has over twenty years of experience in information systems and infrastructure. He currently works as a hybrid cloud architect at Advania Finland, and prior to that, he served as a senior consultant for information security and infrastructure at Accountor ICT, among other companies.

In live production, this expertise is invisible but crucial. A broadcast is only as reliable as the network, storage, and backup systems supporting it. Jan ensures that this foundation remains solid even when something goes wrong.
